- The top one under a lawyer is his Wife!
- Legal Secretary?
- Associate
- That would be a paralegal.
Oh, and what a sexist first answer! Funny tho.
- maybe you can be a paralegal or a legal secretary or an investigator or....
- Large firm: Office Manager.
Single lawyer office- whatever he hires you as since there is no place for you to go anyway.
- That depends entirely on what type of lawyer or law firm you're talking about. In general, the highest paying position in a law office other than the attorneys themselves is head paralegal or legal secretary. I have friends who pay their paralegals close to six figure salaries. But they have decades of experience, and are absolutely essential to the proper running of big firms. They work long hours, and they are very very bright. If you want to be a paralegal, you need good research and writing skills, and you need to be a quick learner. Good luck.
- That depends on the job description. I am a paralegal and I am not allowed to give legal advice or represent a client in a courtroom. yet I do case law research and draft legal documents. I would think overall a person who received his law degree but not passed the bar e am would be just under a junior associate attorney.
