How can I find an attorney who works on a contingency basis?

I need a California attorney who will take a possible police brutality case, in a criminal and civil proceeding. What questions do I ask? Where do I look?

1. There are some websites out there to find lawyers. Plus check in your phone book. There are 1800 numbers to refer lawyers as well.
2. Call your local bar association and they will have lists of members who can help you.
